Project Synopsis
The aim of the project is to Development of new lactide monomers and polymers and tuning their structure for compatibilizing with other polymers. The ultimate aim is to use this polymer as a substitute for composite and adhesive applications.
Nature of work
Development of new monomer structures via designing, synthesis and characterization and transformation into polymers. Project involves organic synthesis, polymer synthesis and characterization etc.
Essential and Desirable Qualifications
The candidate should have a Master’s degree (with a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent grade point average) and Ph.D. in Chemistry with good synthetic skills in Organic/Polymer Chemistry from a UGC recognized University. The candidate should have good analytical skills and familiarity with organic/polymer synthesis will be preferred. Understanding of
organic material characterisation techniques is desirable. Synthesis of polylactides or prior knowledge in their synthesis is an advantage.Duration of the Project
2 Years. Candidate will be hired for a year and can be extended further based on satisfactory performance.
Fellowship
Consolidated Rs. 65,000/- p.m.
