Job Title: Researcher (On Full-time Contract) – Iron Making Research Group
Location: Tata Steel Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India On-site
Job: Researcher/Principal Researcher (On Contract) – Ironmaking Research Group
(Open Foam)
Eligibility Criteria: M. Tech in Chemical engineering
Relevant Experience:
- At least two years of hands-on experience in Open Foam
- Executing projects like modeling reactions/ combustions in a packed bed
- Having sound knowledge of OpenFoam architecture with experience in solving multiphase flow/ combustion etc.
- Experience in writing code in Python
- Knowledge of Commercial CFD software like FLUENT
Job Purpose:
To execute numerical simulations in OpenFoam for different Ironmaking Processes.
Responsibilities:
- Learn different iron making processes; Modelling of iron making processes in Open Foam
Analyzing the output of the model and validation with real data. - Developing GUI for implementation of the model at the customer end
- Perform data reconciliation and data mining etc. in python
- Help others in achieving their target in CFD related areas like combustion and multiphase flow
- Collaborate with the operations team, different team members to execute the job
