Requirements
- PhD in Chemistry, Material Science, Polymer Science or Chemical Engineering, preferably with Synthesis or formulation focus
- Experience of 3-5 years as Scientist with experience of laboratory automation and / or high throughput screening or experimentation
- Expertise in using automated technology in an R&D environment, knowledge of Design of Experiments, Lab View and related skills is preferred
- Self-motivation and demonstrated ability for structured, independent, goal-oriented work with high motivation, ambition and reliability
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to facilitate and interact with a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and team-building skills.
- Open to ideas and able to foster a cohesive and effective work environment.
- Excellent communication, report writing and presentation skills in English

R&D Project Execution
- Scout for and drive R&D projects with creativity and endurance according to defined milestones, objectives and timelines
- Master the use of automated technology to develop new methodologies and enhance automated research capabilities
- Communicate effectively across diverse levels of the organization
- Ensure good laboratory practice and maintain a safe working environment
- Responsible for the execution of feasibilities and projects according to milestones & objectives
- Communicate project results to stakeholders on regular basis and prepare high quality reports
- Manage stakeholder expectations by maintaining transparency on project progress
- Translate standard lab workflows into new and faster HTE protocols in order to boost lab output
Collective Creativity & Collaboration
- Continuously observe, analyze and assess scientific and technical trends in areas of competence to develop ideas for new research projects
- Explore and identify unmet needs and propose new feasibilities and project opportunities
- Actively participate in problem solving and idea generation initiatives
- Advance in own field of competence and beyond to build and expand HTE capabilities into new fields of expertise
- Collaborate with other teams to identify new emerging technologies and expand CLN innovation capabilities
- Communicate and collaborate effectively across diverse levels of the organization
Knowledge Management
- Continuously generate and proactively share knowledge within technology and innovation teams from Research, Business Units and beyond
- Perform literature screening and patent filing to secure and strengthen Clariant´s intellectual property
- Document experimental results for knowledge sharing, retrieving and prevention of duplication of work
- Document success stories and share these in team meetings to advance the team expertise
