Job Description
The Project Scientist-I will be engaged in the Bioinformatics Center (DBT BIC) project under the sponsorship of DBT. The role involves modeling proteins and protein binding sites, conducting molecular dynamics simulations, and applying AI/ML methods to biological and structural data. Candidates will also be required to develop custom coding solutions, write scientific publications, and present research outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform physics-based modeling of protein dynamics and ligand interactions using molecular dynamics simulations.
- Apply AI/ML-based modeling approaches for analyzing experimental structural data.
- Develop and code custom routines, predictive models, and data analysis pipelines in Python.
- Conduct research on protein binding sites integrating experimental and computational approaches.
- Prepare scientific manuscripts and presentations for dissemination of results.
- Collaborate with the project team to advance research objectives under the DBT BIC initiative.
Qualifications

Educational Qualification:
- Doctoral degree in Sciences (Bioinformatics/Biotechnology/Chemistry) OR
- Masters/Integrated Masters in Engineering (Bio/Chemical Engineering, Computational Biology, Bioengineering) from a recognized university.

Desirable Experience:
- Prior experience in molecular dynamics simulations and AI/ML methods for biological problems.
- Strong coding skills in Python for bioinformatics applications.
- At least one publication in a reputed scientific journal.

Age Limit: Maximum 35 years (relaxable as per government norms for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Women).
