R&D Scientist Position: Job Description
The R&D Scientist for Baby Care will play a crucial role in implementing innovation projects that support Kenvue’s regional product pipeline for baby care. This includes developing a range of products from creams to cleansers, ensuring they are safe, efficacious, and ready for production scale-up. The successful candidate will combine consumer insights with formulation expertise to create products that resonate with consumers.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for delivering innovation projects for Johnson’s & Johnson’s Baby®.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment in compliance with company policies.
- Plan, execute, and report laboratory trials while managing ingredient and formulation documentation.
- Develop and test laboratory prototypes across a range of baby creams, lotions, shampoos, and washes.
- Identify and report potential risks with formula designs and suggest improvements.
- Draft and execute technical reports and presentations.
- Create and refine impactful product demonstrations that communicate scientific benefits to consumers.
- Generate rigorous data sets to support data-driven decision-making by business leaders.
- Collaborate within a multi-functional team while managing individual work plans and experimental programs.
- Accurately record experimental findings and maintain high standards of data quality.
- Participate in technical team meetings and report findings to the Head of Regional Baby Care.
Eligibility Criteria
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering is preferred, along with some industrial experience.
- Passionate about learning and developing in formulation and product science.
- Work experience through internships or university industrial programs is welcomed.
- Strong English skills are required, especially for collaboration across teams in Asia.
- Experience in a laboratory environment or a background in consumer science is advantageous.
