Job Description
The selected candidate for this INST Mohali job opening will work on the design and synthesis of peptide-polymer conjugated hydrogels for advanced biomaterials applications. Responsibilities include mechanical and physicochemical characterization of the developed hydrogels, along with in vitro biological evaluation to study cell-scaffold interactions. The candidate should be willing to travel to IIT Kanpur to carry out in vivo animal model experimental studies as part of the project work.
Eligibility Criteria
- Essential Qualification: First Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG Degrees in Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biological Sciences/Pharmaceutical Sciences/Material Science/Polymer/Nanotechnology.
- Desirable Experience: Qualified in GATE/GPAT/CSIR-UGC-NET including lectureship or equivalent examination. Candidates with previous experience in Hydrogel/Cell culture/Animal Handling/Peptide and Organic Synthesis/Polymers/PCR handling and experience in scientific writing as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications will be preferred.
- Age Limit: Must not be over 35 years as of 28 September 2026, which is relaxable for certain reserved categories as per rules of Government of India.
Fellowship
₹56,000 per month + HRA as applicable. Initially, the duration is one year and may be extended based on performance and availability of funds.

- The position is purely temporary and on a contractual basis, co-terminus with the project.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
