Job Overview:
IFF Careers is hiring for Chemistry jobs in the Application Technician role based in Mumbai. This position focuses on Cosmetic chemistry jobs involving fragrance application, sample preparation, and laboratory operations. Candidates will work closely with technical teams to support product development and ensure compliance with laboratory and safety
standards.Key Responsibilities:
- Apply fragrances into cosmetic bases according to customer requirements: application preparation, introduction in line with good manufacturing practices, use of conditioning, and labeling.
- Prepare the first application of perfumer oils for internal evaluations.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of chemical and safety protocols when handling different (harmful) materials.
- Manage cosmetic raw materials and bases in accordance with good laboratory practices, including labeling, respect of shelf life, replenishment orders, and contamination prevention.
- Perform laboratory duties including maintenance of equipment, housekeeping and shortage prevention.
- Manage the process & application for market research sample preparation.
- Support various fundamental studies in terms of technical requirements to suit fragrance application in various bases.
- Submit stability reports & demonstrate basic knowledge of lab equipment.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with perfumers, evaluators, and project teams to align technical applications with creative and commercial objectives.
Educational Requirements:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Fragrance, or any other relevant discipline.
- Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience in a similar role from either a Fragrance, FMCG, or Raw Materials environment.
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of applications, raw materials, and chemical processes.
- Ability to independently manage end‑to‑end projects with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of automated systems and computer task management tools.
- Ability to interact with internal stakeholders across functions.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel as required.
