Preferred candidate profile

  • Qualification: M. Tech- Desirable / B. Tech (Essential) in Chemical Engineering from a reputed college/university
  • Experience: 3 to 8 years of experience in R&D setup with a reputed organization from a similar background.

Role & responsibilities

  • Scale-up and technology transfer of newly developed process from R&D to kilo lab, then to piloting, and finally to commercial plant (various sites of the company across the globe).
  • Conduct scale-up/kilo lab experiments and suggest operational issues for scale-up.
  • Well-versed with operating Automated Lab reactors, Scrubber, VTD, ATD, and Distillation system for experimentation.
  • Preparation and compilation of basic engineering design packages, i.e., Block diagram, PFDs, Heat and Mass balances, Effluent load calculations, Utility calculations.
  • Evaluate engineering documents like P&IDs and equipment datasheets.
  • Suggest process improvement solutions at lab/pilot/commercial levels.
  • Involved in optimization of various products at the lab level and coordinated with various chemists and synthesis group leaders for the same.
  • Interpretation of scale-up data and preparation of trend analysis of various experiments to arrive at logical conclusions.
  • Understanding of concepts of chemistry and critical reactions, kinetics & impurity profiling.
  • Well-versed with the evaluation of safety data like RC1, ARC, DSC, TSU, Dust Explosion, MIE, etc., in-house or at 3rd party for various products.
  • Participate in plant HAZOP review and Risk analysis for various products.
  • Flexible in working with cross-functional teams.
  • Provide technical support at CM plant sites for scale-up activities and non-routine production campaigns as required.

Skills Required

  • Systematic and detail-oriented.
  • Travel across various toller sites as and when required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to partner with and communicate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Technical software Dynochem/Visimix/MixIT will be an added advantage.
  • Earlier experience of the activities of a Kilo Lab function would be preferred.
