Job Summary:
The Analytical Scientist in the Advanced Characterization and Structural Elucidation Team (ACT-SEL) will utilize sophisticated analytical techniques to investigate the composition, structure, and properties of substances at molecular and atomic levels. This role supports structural elucidation across modalities, mechanism elucidation, and the study of drug substances and unknown impurities through method development and validation.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Employ advanced techniques such as high-resolution mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS) for peptide characterization and sequencing.
- Design and execute experiments, analyze data, identify critical parameters, and develop innovative solutions in pharmaceutical R&D.
- Deduce chemical structures and compositions of complex molecules, elucidating atomic and molecular arrangements using advanced methods.
- Develop and optimize analytical methods and protocols for accurate characterization of diverse materials.
- Perform comprehensive data analysis, utilizing statistical tools to extract insights into structures and properties.
- Contribute to research projects on novel methods for structural characterization while staying updated on advancements in analytical technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide analytical support and insights for R&D projects, and effectively communicate findings.
- Ensure adherence to quality control standards and regulatory requirements, maintaining accuracy and reliability in data generation.
- Troubleshoot instrument-related issues, perform routine maintenance, and calibrate analytical equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures, results, and observations, preparing reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Adhere to safety protocols and laboratory best practices while handling hazardous materials and operating analytical instruments.
Qualifications:
- Education: MS in Pharmaceutical Analysis or Postgraduate degree in Pharma/Physics.
- Experience: 3-8 years in relevant fields.
Skills & Attributes:
Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience with peptide characterization techniques like liquid chromatography and high-resolution TOF or Orbitrap mass spectrometers.
- Proficiency in HPLC method development and validation.
- Expertise in instrument calibration and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Current Good Laboratory Practices (CGLP).
