Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated scientist with expertise in the solid-state chemistry of organic molecules. The role involves screening novel solid forms, characterizing them, developing crystallization processes, and conducting preformulation activities. The ideal candidate will be adept at working within cross-functional teams to evaluate and develop workable forms.
Detailed Work Description:
- Understand and summarize the IP landscape in collaboration with IP teams.
- Design experiments, including selecting solvents and co-formers and using appropriate experimental conditions.
- Execute screening experiments as per defined strategy.
- Characterize solid forms using triage techniques (XRPD, DSC, TGA) and DVS.
- Coordinate with analysts to conduct additional characterization and stability studies for relevant forms.
- Assess the novelty of forms under guidance.
- Draft documents to support patent filing with guidance.
- Assist IP in comparing forms for potential patents.
- Generate materials for laboratory, stress, and accelerated stability studies, and conduct stability assessments.
- Coordinate preformulation studies as per defined strategy.
- Document all executed experiments in ELN as per quality requirements.
- Draft comprehensive screening reports.
- Adhere to GXP guidelines, SOPs, and internal systems for functional delivery.
- Understand and adhere to safety requirements within the work area, identifying potential hazards.
Qualifications
- M.Sc. (Chemistry) / M. Pharm (Pharmaceutics) with specialization or experience in solid-state chemistry.
- 0-3 years of experience in crystallization/solid-form screening.
- Successful support or direct handling of polymorph screening for 0-2 products; understanding of organic solid state and screening techniques.
- Experience with computational models, molecular modeling, and experimental tools is advantageous.
