Advertisement for the post of Junior Research Assistant (JRA) for the UPCST sponsored Project
Applications are invited from Indian citizens, who are residents of Uttar Pradesh for the post of Junior Research Assistant (JRA) for the research project entitled “To investigate multifunctional dendrimers as modulators against LPS induced neuroinflammation” (Project ID 2379) vide Sanction letter no. CST/D-2188; dated 22.12.2023) sponsored by Council of Science and Technology, U.P. Lucknow. The position is purely temporary with a consolidated stipend of INR 25,000/- per month for the first 02-year duration and Rs. 28,000.00/- per month for the 3rd year (without any benefit of HRA, CCA, PF, LTC, medical claim, etc.) and will be governed by the funding agency CST U.P. guidelines & service conditions of NIPER-Raebareli.
The duly completed application (as per attached proforma), along with self-attested copies of supporting documents must reach the Principal Investigator (PI), Dr. Saba Naqvi, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology/Regulatory Toxicology, Bijnor-Sisendi Road, Sarojini Nagar, Near CRPF Base Camp, Lucknow (UP)- 226002. The envelope should be superscribed as “Application for the post of JRA for UPCST sponsored Project”. A scanned copy of the duly filled and signed application form along with all the certificates may also be sent through email to PI: [email protected] with the subject line “Application for the post of JRA for UPCST sponsored Project”.

Essential qualifications: The candidates should possess M.Sc. (Life sciences)/ Chemistry/Toxicology, M.S. (Pharm.) or M. Pharm. in Pharmacology or Pharmacology & Toxicology/ Pharmaceutics/Medicinal Chemistry PG degree in another relevant branch of life sciences. High academic achievement with 1st class graduate and post-graduate examination with the fulfillment of basic qualification.
Desirable skills: Preference may be for the candidates with exposure to cell-culture/animal handling/ synthesis of nanomaterials or other relevant experimental skills.
Age limit: Maximum 28 years as on 1st April 2024 (age relaxation for SC/ST/PH is as per GoI rules).
Tenure of Appointment: 3 years. The performance of the recruited JRA will be evaluated at the end of one year from the start of the project; and will be extended for another one more year based on satisfactory performance.
Notes:
- The candidate must be a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
- Mere possessing the prescribed qualification does not ensure that the candidate will be called for an interview. The candidate will be shortlisted based on merit and need of the project.
- Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email about the interview schedule within 2 weeks of the last date of the application.
- Shortlisted candidates must be present physically for the interview along with original certificates.
- No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.
- Since the position is purely temporary, no claim for regular appointment/continuation of services in any other project will be entertained.
