The Office of Commissioner Food Safety, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Port Blair invites ONLINE APPLICATION from eligible candidates for recruitment to the Group ‘B’ Non Gazetted/Non Ministerial post of Food Safety Officer. The details of vacant posts,
scale of Pay and eligibility conditions are given below:-
Job Title: Food Safety Officer

NOTE: *Number of vacancies is tentative and subject to variation.
Scale of Pay: As Per 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level-6 (Rs. 35400-112400)
Age Limit: 30 years
Eligbility Criteria:
Master’s Degree in Chemistry or Degree in Medicine from a recognized University.
Principles of Food Preservation, Processing and Packaging
Food Processing Operations, Principles, Good Manufacturing Practices
1. Overview of food preservation methods and their under lying
principles including novel and emerging methods/principles
2. Overview of food packaging methods and principles including
novel packaging materials/techniques Principles and Basics of Food Chemistry and their role in Human Nutrition
1. Structure and functions of macro-and micronutrients
2. Role of macro and micronutrients in human nutrition
3. Over view of food additives with respect to their technological
functions
4. Over view of anti-nutritional factors and their removal from
foods5. Over view of enzymes as food processing aids
6. Over view of nutraceuticals and functions foods
7. Overview of food contaminants and adulterants and their effects on
human health
8. Food allergens and allergen city
9. Importance of diet in alleviating health risks, especially non communicable diseases
CENTRE OF EXAMINATION :
The Examination will be held at PORT BLAIR.
GENERAL CONDITIONS :
- While applying, the applicant should ensure that he/she fulfills the eligibility
norms and that the particulars furnished by him/her are correct in all
respect. - In the event of any information being false or incorrect or ineligibility being
detected before or after selection, his/her candidature/appointment is liable
to be cancelled. - Date of Birth filled by candidate in the online application form and the same
recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate will be
accepted and no subsequent request for change will be considered. - If at any stage of recruitment or thereafter, it is found that any information furnished by the candidate in his/her ONLINE application is false/incorrect or candidate has suppressed any relevant information or the candidate otherwise does not satisfy the eligibility criteria for the posts his/her candidature will be cancelled forthwith.
HOW TO APPLY:
- The Applications must be submitted in only ONLINE mode at the website
(https://erectruitment.andaman.gov.in/crap) or
www.andaman.gov.in from 09.05.2023 at 1100 hrs to 05.06.2023
at 12.00 midnight of closing date. No physical copy of application is
required. The candidates should provide all the mandatory details in
the online portal failing which the application will not be accepted. - The candidate has to go through following steps for completing his/her
online submission :

Note :- As proof of identity of the candidate in the personal information identity cards viz Islander Card, Employment Registration Card, Pan Card, Driving license or any other IDs
issued by Govt. can be submitted.
- Only those applications which are complete with all the above sections
will be treated as complete. However, applications that are submitted partially, due to reasons such as network issues, can be resumed and completed at later point of time through appropriate options in the recruitment portal. All such applications are to be completed before the last date of online application. - Filling up the information like personal Mobile number of the candidate
is compulsory. - Candidates are required to upload the scanned colour passport size
photograph in JPEG format (20 KB to 50 KB). The photograph should
not be more than three months old from the date of publication of the
Notice of Examination, and the photograph should be clearly visible and
legible. Image dimension of the photograph should be about 3.5 cm
(width) x 4.5 cm (height). Uploading of wrong photographs or
photographs with poor visibility may lead to debarring of candidates
from appearing in the examination. Signature should be between 10 kb
to 20 kb and the resolution is 140×60 (width x height) in jpeg format. - Candidates are advised in their own interest to submit online
applications much before the closing date and not to wait till the last
date to avoid the possibility of disconnection/ inability or failure to login
to the website on account of heavy load on the website during the closing
days. - Before submission of the online application, candidates must check that
they have filled correct details in each field of the form. After submission
of the online application form, no change/ correction/ modification will
be allowed under any circumstances. Requests received in this regard in
any form like Post, Fax, Email, by hand, etc. shall not be entertained. - The eligibility of age and qualifications of the candidate will be
determined as on the last date of the submission of online application
i.e. on 05.06.2023. - Apart from the ONLINE application, no other documents are needed to be
furnished at the time of application. - Visually Handicapped (VH) candidates with visual disabilities of forty
percent and above and candidates suffering from Cerebral Palsy can
avail the assistance of a SCRIBE in the Online Examination subject to
such requests being made in the ONLINE application form. Question
Papers and Answer Sheets will not be provided in BRAILLE. No other
attendant will be allowed with VH/Cerebral Palsy candidates inside the
examination premises. - Note: Persons with Visual disability of less than forty percent will not be considered as
visually handicapped persons. One eyed candidates and partially blind
candidates who are able to read the normal question paper set or all the
candidates with or without magnifying glass and who wish to write/indicate the
answer with the help of magnifying glass will be allowed to use the Magnifying
Glass in the Examination Hall and will not be entitled to a scribe. Such candidates
will have to bring their own magnifying glass to the examination hall. Similarly,
other persons with less than forty percent (40%) disability will not be considered
as OBH/HH category as the case applicable. - Instructions regarding filling of the online application form are mentioned
on the website (https://erectruitment.andaman.gov.in/crap) and
should be followed scrupulously failing which the candidature shall be
rejected.
