Job Title: Materials Chemist
Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India
Qualifications:
- B.Sc. in Chemistry or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in electrochemical metal recovery from e-waste using electrolysis.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and analytical techniques.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and hazardous chemical handling procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and team-working skills.
Responsibilities:
- Â Develop and optimize the electrolysis process for maximum metal recovery and minimum energy usage and waste generation.
- Select and test appropriate chemicals and design electrodes for maximum efficiency and metal recovery.
- Monitor the electrolysis process to maintain the right chemical concentrations and electrical currents for maximum metal recovery.
- Implement quality control procedures to ensure recovered metals meet purity and quality standards.
- Analyze data to identify areas for process improvement and work with the team to optimize the recycling process and reduce environmental impacts.
- Ensure hazardous chemicals are handled and disposed of safely and in compliance with regulations.
- Keep accurate records of the electrolysis process and associated data for reporting purposes.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in electrolysis technology and other relevant areas of science to continuously improve the e-waste recycling process.
