Applications are invited for walk-in interviews for recruitment of the following positions on a
contractual basis under the DBT-sponsored projects entitled, “Development of layered double hydroxide (LDH) nanoclays for topical delivery of RNAi for sustained protection of
economically important plants against pest attack” at Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST) Garchuk, Guwahati (Assam). Eligible and interested candidates are invited to attend the interview with the original supporting documents (e.g. educational certificates, age proof, caste certificate (if applicable), etc.) and duplicate Xerox copy.

Job Title: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Eligbility Criteria: M Pharma with with minimum 55% marks

Age: 28 years* -as of the date of the interview

Salary: ₹31,000.00+HRA per month, for the candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC
NET/GATE or equivalent.

ii. For others who do not fall under the above category, as per GoI guidelines.

Duration: Appointment will be initially for a period of 06 (Six) months, which may be extended till completion of the project depending upon satisfactory performance of the incumbent and status of the project or until further order, whichever is earlier.

  1. Can you explain your experience and expertise in the field of layered double hydroxide (LDH) nanoclays and their application in RNAi delivery?

Answer: I have completed my M Pharma with a specialization in pharmaceutical technology, and during my academic tenure, I have worked on several research projects related to nanotechnology and drug delivery systems. I have also undergone training in nanoclay synthesis and characterization techniques, which would be beneficial for this project.

2. How do you plan to approach the challenges associated with the sustained protection of economically important plants against pest attack through RNAi delivery using LDH nanoclays?

Answer: I plan to conduct a comprehensive literature survey to understand the current state-of-the-art approaches and identify potential areas of improvement. I would also collaborate with my colleagues in the team to design and optimize the nanoclay formulations and conduct in vitro and in vivo experiments to evaluate their efficacy and safety.

3. Can you discuss your understanding of the CSIR-UGC NET/GATE qualification and how it can enhance your research potential?

Answer: The CSIR-UGC NET/GATE qualification is a nationally recognized benchmark that evaluates a candidate’s aptitude and knowledge in their respective field of research. Qualifying this exam would demonstrate my competency in pharmaceutical sciences and give me an edge over other candidates who do not have this qualification. Moreover, it would provide me access to various funding opportunities and networking platforms to enhance my research potential.

4. How would you ensure your contribution towards the successful completion of the project within the given timeline?

Answer: I would maintain a systematic and well-planned approach towards my research activities, and closely monitor the progress of the project. I would also collaborate with my colleagues to ensure smooth execution of the project and timely completion of the deliverables. Moreover, I would keep myself updated with the latest advancements in the field to optimize the research outcomes.

5. Can you share your long-term career goals and how this position aligns with them?

Answer: My long-term career goal is to establish myself as an accomplished researcher in the field of drug delivery and contribute to the development of innovative and effective therapies for various diseases. This position aligns with my career goals as it provides me with an opportunity to work on a challenging research project and gain hands-on experience in the synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials. It would also help me develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which are essential for a successful research career.
