JNCASR Chemical Science Summer Research Fellowship Program
SUMMER RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME (SRFP)
This is a flagship programme of the JNCASR, introduced in 1991. Science and engineering students at the bachelors and masters level are placed at institutes of repute all over the country, for two months training in the areas of their interest in the Life Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematics and Engineering. Selection is based on purely merit. About 150 fellowships are offered each year. The admitted students are given a fellowship of Rs. 10,000/- per month. So far, 2409 students have been benefitted from this programme. This is one of the highly acclaimed programmes of the Centre and the students are very appreciative of the benefits, enabling them to get inspired towards scientific research during the early stage of their education. Several SRFP fellows have pursued a career in science, maths or engineering and hold responsible positions in India and abroad.
RESEARCH AREAS:
Chemical Sciences: Solid state chemistry, theoretical and computational chemistry, organic, physical and inorganic chemistry, organic and asymmetric synthesis, medicinal and bio-organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, supramolecular chemistry and chemistry of nanomaterials, renewable energy and healthcare related materials chemistry.
Eligibility Criteria:
Students who have secured not
less than 80% in Maths and Science subjects in their 10th and 12th standard or equivalent examinations, and not less than first class in graduation and post-graduation (if applicable).- Students presently IV year of BS-MS, I year of M.Sc. and IV years of Int. M.Sc. can apply.
- The students selected under this program are placed with scientists at the Centre or elsewhere in India, for 2 continuous months with a stipend of Rs. 10000 /- p.m.
