Job Title: Scientist ‘B’ (Forensic Narcotics)

Pay Scale Level – 10 (Rs.56,100-1,77,500/-) in Pay Matrix as per CCS (R.P.) Rules, 2016. (Total emoluments excluding T.A. & HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs. 56,100/- plus DA as applicable per month approximately)
Age Not exceeding 35 years as on normal closing date. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central Govt. / UT Govt. servants upto five years as per the instructions issued by the Govt. of India from time to time. Eligbility Criteria:
Master Degree in Chemistry from recognised University or Institute
OR Master Degree in Forensic Science with Chemistry as one of the subjects during all the three years of Bachelor of Science from recognized University or institute.Experience –
Three years experience of analytical methods and research therein in the field of Forensic Narcotics from a government-recognised orgnization or institution.
Note – Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in wiriting, in case of canddiates otherwise well qualified.
Desirable Qualifications One year experience of working in a Forensic Science Laboratory under the Central or State Government or Union Territory administration after obtaining the minimum prescribed educational qualifications.
Duties Crime Case Examination, giving evidences in the Court of Law, Crime Scene Examination, providing guidance to the junior scientific staff for case analysis, R&D activities on Forensic Science and imparting training in the respective field of forensic specialization to the trainees from different investigating agencies / forensic science labs and other organizations.
Probation Two Years
Headquarters Headquarters is at New Delhi with Laboratories at Pune, Kamrup (Assam) & Bhopal. In connection with performing the duties, the officer may be required to serve in any part of India.
Other Details General Central Service, Group ‘A’, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. The post is permanent.
Any Other Conditions
1. Leprosy Cured persons are suitable for the post of Scientist ‘B’ (Forensic Narcotics) subject to the condition that their upper limbs are functioning normally.
2. Acid attack victims are suitable for the post of Scientist ‘B’ (Forensic Narcotics) provided their vision and hearing have not been impaired.
