Job Title: Senior Manager-Process & Plant Safety

Eligbility Criteria:Â
- Degree in Chemical Engineering having chemical industry experience of minimum 8 years or relevant higher academic background with exposure/knowledge in Process engineering/process safety management/operations
- Preferably 2-3 years’ experience in performing PHA or as a PHA facilitator for AI manufacturing or Formulation set up
- Communicative and motivating
- Aptitude for Process and Plant Safety
- Knowledge of risk assessment software though not necessary
Position Purpose:
- Responsible for Process and Plant safety, ensuring minimum risk to people, property, and community
- Responsible for leading Process and Plant safety risk assessments Scope (global, regional, or local)
- Interpret Process and Plant safety policy as laid down by Bayer Group and implement using knowledge documents
- Perform risk assessments at various stages of a project with site/plant/project management teams and identify action items for the safety of operating people and the environment
- Perform risk assessments for management of change with site management team and identify action items for the safe implementation of management of change in line with accepted Bayer guidelines
- Provide Process and Plant safety risks for incorporating in site emergency response plans
- Impart training on Process and Plant safety to plant personnel, thereby raising the awareness of hazard identification, risk assessments and its mitigation
- Carry out periodic revalidation to ensure that safety concepts as agreed and documented during previous revalidation are in place and suggest improvements, if possible, to reduce the risks further using state of the art technology
- Perform Acceptance safety review to verify that all action items from the detailed safety review revalidation have been implemented
- Prepare Explosion Prevention and Protection Document (EPPD) to explosions that could lead to serious consequences, both on-site & off site and carry out technical inspection with the support of PPS, Centre of Expertise
Tasks & Responsibilties:
- Maintain Bayer’s “License to operate”
- Prevent injuries to the employees, and community and minimize risks to property and surroundings
- Reduce HSE risks at the manufacturing sites and eliminate the adverse impact of our operations on the employees and the surrounding communities
- Ensure compliance of Bayer Global PPS directives and Procedures
- Continually improve safety at manufacturing sites by conducting safety reviews periodically and reducing the risks to “As Low As Reasonably Practicable”
- (ALARP)Maintain the image of the Organization in the large chemical industrial sector
