Job Title: Manager – Process SafetyGIL/M-PS/492345
Qualification:
Ph.D. or BE/B.Tech or ME/M.Tech in Chemical Engineering Degree or equivalent in Chemistry.
Experience: 8 – 10 years of industrial experience

- Ability to analyze complex and diverse problem situations creatively leading to the generation and implementation of original solutions
- Ability to manage time and team effectively and meeting skills
- Ability to convey the appropriate level of detail to the right audience verbally, in writing, or by the presentation and the ability to judge when and who to communicate key information.
- Ability to maintain and extend networks internally, in professional bodies, and with regulatory authorities, to be aware of the latest developments in technology and legislation.
- Ability to take personal responsibility to make things happen and continuously raise the bar.
- Ability to influence beyond own function and level
- Ability to support team members in capability development
- Ability to prepare an effective plan for the work area (and the team) to contribute to strategic priorities
- Literature and database searching and the ability to collect, collate and interpret complex information.
Purpose :
- Provide knowledge and direction in process safety for new and existing products, and support the projects and operations to meet business needs.
- Contribute to the development of novel technologies and approaches relating to process safety
- Provide training and coaching in process safety on basic interpretations and equipment handling.
- Manages the process safety resources for process development, and manufacturing support projects.
- Get involved with a process risk evaluation
- Acquire and develop skills, behaviors, and experiences, in process safety and as a key member of the Technology capability built to deliver ongoing process development and potential future projects.
Your Roles & Responsibilities
Accountabilities:
- Ensure representation of Process safety study function within organization
- Lead a team of Process safety chemists and engineers and provide technical guidance
- Ensure testing activities are planned in line with customer needs and meet agreed timelines
- Provide high quality, practical process safety advice to stakeholders
- Ensure preparation and issue safety assessment reports, with complex decisions supported and validated
- Provide technical support to plant and contribution to resolving trouble shootinghazar
- Ensure progress of technology and development initiatives to explore alternative techniques of d identification, reliable test results, and solutions
- Ensure participation of PRA, MOC, and generation of technical document
- Ensure housekeeping of Laboratory, availability of resources, and maintenance of equipment
- Ensure compliance to HSEQ
Responsibilities:
- To examine processes and plants for potential process safety, in order to define safe conditions of operation.
- To provide high quality, practical process safety advice to customers by applying a combination of theoretical and applied knowledge.
- To explore alternative techniques of hazard identification and alternative options to problem resolution Process technology and development initiatives and to enable novel problems to be solved.
- To build relationships with key external contacts to maintain a high level of awareness and expertise in existing and developing hazard technology
- To participate in project teams as the representative of Process safety Section to provide advice to help ensure that new products and processes are developed and established safely to meet targets.
- To ensure all work and information is recorded in lab notebook.
- To lead, develop, train, and coach PHS experimentalists to improve their performance and achieve higher professional standards. Assess performance.
- To maintain effective communication with stakeholders regarding process development/improvement initiatives to ensure that all factors are taken into account
- To plan and control/carry out laboratory work and semi-technical work in order to meet agreed-on targets.
- To fully comply with the requirements of the company and national regulatory standards
- To coordinate and carry out development and Process Technology activities
- To acquire and develop skills, behaviors, and experiences, as a key member of the Technology capability built to deliver ongoing process development and potential future projects.
- To ensure the maintenance and smooth running of process safety equipment to eliminate delays in data generation.
- To operate the Lab and manage the activities as per the HSEQ management system
- To understand and avoid scenarios, incidents that put oneself as well as others to injuries /illness and Environment pollution
