Project Title: “Pharmacological evaluation of non-carbohydrate prebiotic-like substances against induced cognitive impairments: Targeting GutMicroflora-Brain axis”
Funded by ICMR at ICMR-National Institute of Occupational Health (NIOH) Ahmedabad under Dr. D P Singh, Scientist C & Principal Investigator.
The post is purely temporary, ad-hoc & on a contractual basis, and co-terminus with the project.

Eligibility Criteria: Post Graduate Degree in (Pharmacology) OR Post Graduate Degree in a professional course (Pharmaceutical Sciences) selected through a process described through any one of the following: A). Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests — CSIR-UGC, NET, including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE, GPAT
B). The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, 11T, llsc, IISER, etc
Desirable: Experience in handling small rodents (mice) and
prior experience in neurobehavioral studies and organ necropsy. Able to perform basic molecular biology techniques such as nucleic acid isolation, PCR, RT-PCR, Immunohistochemistry, and Western blotting. Any experience in handling metagenomics and i\hole genome data. Data aggregation fronl various scholarly databases.Age: Upper age limit is 28 Years as on the last date of application.
Salary: Rs. 31,000 per month + HRA 27% 8370/-

Job Requirement/ Description
Field studies involving behavioral assessment. Stool analysis of human subjects for microbiome analysis. Animal studies for neurobehavioral and pharmacological assessment of interventions.
Tenure Initially for a period of six months and renewed subsequently based on performance or until the termination of the ro•ect and maximum upto three years.

- Qualification & experience required are as per ICMR guidelines: experience shall be counted after acquiring the essential qualification; age limit and experience will be considered as on the last date of receipt of application.
- Benefits of Proyådent Fund, CCA, Leave Travel Concession, Medical Claim, Leave Concession, etc. are not admissible. The posts are purely temporary, co-terminate with the project, and the incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointment/employment under ICMR/ICMR-NIOH, or continuation in other projects,s and his/her engagement will be deemed terminated immediately after the expiry of the project/appointment.
- Age relaxation will be admissible in respect of SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), PH (10 years) and women candidates (5 years), etc.. in accordance with the instructions issued by the Central Government/DoPT/ICMR from time to time. Age concession to the extent of service rendered in other ICMR research projects will also be admissible for experienced and skilled persons.
- Candidates employed in G(M. Service /Semi Gou. /Autonomous Bodies of State/Central Gmt. should submit a “No Objection Certificate” from their employer at the time of the written test/walk-in Interview.
- Depending upon the number of applicants, the written examination/test shall be conducted. The duration of the examination is of one hour and consists of objective-type questions on general science. general analytical ability and knowledge of the concerned area
- The short-listed candidates will be intimated through e-mail only on further procedures of recruitment. The shortlisted candidates are required to produce original documents for verification at the time of interview/personal discussion or joining (in case of interview through video call)
- Submission of incorrect or false information during the process of personal discussion/video conferencing shall disqualify the candidature.
- Any further information may be downloaded from the ICMR-NIOH website, which will be updated from time to time. The date of the personal discussion / written test may be changed due to administrative reasons, hence, candidates are advised to check the website before appearing for a personal discussion / written test.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written test/interview / personal discussion.
ll. Female candidates fulfilling the essential and desired qualifications are encouraged to apply. - The decision of the Director/Director-in-Charge, ICMR- National Institute of Occupational Health, Ahmedabad will be final in this regard.
