Role Summary:

  • The purpose of the role is to lead all the Process Safety Management compliance.
  • The purpose of this role is to strengthen HSE procedures and programs to achieve the corporate goal of “Zero error, Zero Harm” in the context of Process safety requirements.
  • Lead execution – implementation of all programs related to Process risk.
  • The candidate will lead all the Process Safety Management (PSM) programs of the site to align it with Best in industries and Lubrizol Corporate standards.
  • The candidate will be responsible for the above purposes at both Turbhe and Taloja sites.

    Occupational Health Centre, Security, and Environment.

DISH, MARG Group, District Crisis center – Local and federal environmental authorities.

Eligibility Criteria & Skills: 

  • Post-graduation / master’s in industrial safety, with preferred Basic graduation, is Chemical Engineering.
  • 5 or more years in the Oil & Gas, refining or chemical process industries with Operations or Process Engineering and Process Safety Management experience.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of programs for:
  • Regulatory Compliance: central and local safety rules and RMP (Risk Management Plan), etc.
  • Industry Best Practices: CCPS Risk-Based Process Safety, RAGAGEP (recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices) (e.g., NFPA, API, etc.)
  • Understanding of Mechanical Integrity Requirements.
  • Knowledge of Pressure Relief Design Practices and Requirements.
  • Knowledge on IS codes associated with plant operations.
  • Responsible Care Standards associated with process safety.
  • PHA (Process Hazard Analysis)) Facilitation Experience: at least HAZOP (knowledge of additional methodologies considered a plus).
  • Experience with PHA software (at least one of: PHAWorks, PHAPro, Leader, PHA-Tool, ePHA, etc.)
  • Experience with Facility Siting and Human Factors Review.
  • LOPA (Layer of Protection Analysis) Facilitation Experience.
  • Ability to determine if a safeguard meets the criteria for being an Independent Protection Layer.
  • Understanding of SIS (safety instrumentation system) and SIL (Safety integrity level) requirements.
  • Understanding of QRA (Quantitative Risk Assessment) principles.
  • Understanding of explosion protection document and hazardous area classification (zone classification).
  • Experience in the Investigation of Process Safety Incidents (Cause Mapping or other methodologies). The ability to lead/facilitate incident investigations is considered a plus.
  • Experience with Management of Change and Pre–Startup Safety Review.
  • Knowledge of PSI requirements.
  • Good Experience in understanding P&IDs with respect to various equipment, instruments, and processes.
  • Experience in understanding logic and interlocks with respect to various systems
  • Physical and chemical hazard assessment.
  • Knowledge of Reactive Hazards and Chemical Incompatibility Determination and Associated Safeguards.
  • Knowledge/Understanding of requirements for Operating Procedures.
  • Experience with development and delivery of Process Safety Management training.
  • Experience with Process Safety Audits. Ability to plan/lead audits is a plus.
  • Experience with Stakeholder Engagement to effect Process Safety Culture Change.
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, facilitation, and leadership skills.
  • Able to interact and influence the behavior of site personnel at all levels

Computer Skills: MS Office,

  • Strong verbal and written communication and networking skills. Fluent in English and the local language.

Responsibilties:

  • Lead the process safety initiatives for LZAI by Developing, implementing process safety programs.
  • Guide the site team in Regulatory Compliance, implementing industry best practices related to Risk-based process safety, Mechanical integrity, pressure relied designs, practice, IS codes for plant design, PHA, facility siting, LOPA, QRA studies, explosion protections, Hazardous area classification, MOC and Pre-startup safety reviews, etc.
  • Drive PSM efforts onsite, interacting with Manufacturing and Engineering departments considering process safety risk prioritization, short term, and long-term requirements.
  • Work closely with Process owners to identify, evaluate the process deviations and associated risks and suggest mitigation plans.
  • Lead Process safety incident investigations deliver findings and suggest corrective measures.
  • Generate, maintain process safety information related to unit operations.
  • Take up process safety audits and coordinate as facility representative for hosting corporate process safety audits.

Responsible for driving process safety culture at the facility.

Receive inputs from Associate Chief Manager HSE on change in compliance (Statutory and Lubrizol Corporation) needs, review the existing set up and plan to address the changes with futuristic anticipation.
