Role Summary:

The Purpose of role is to extend testing support for the qualification of components/sources in the Lubrizol system. Follow/establish procedures and guidelines to confirm the quality of components.

Internal contacts:

Communication: -SCM, Production, Maintenance, SHES & IT.
External contacts: –

Analytical instruments service providers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform QA activities in a collaborative way.
• Conduct characterization, evaluation of new specialty chemicals products/components.
  Prepare Lab batches/blends and blend matrix/product stability study.
• Establish new testing methods and provide training to all QA on procedures, work instructions and processes.
• Support for Calibration of analytical instruments and standardization of volumetric solution
• Analytical testing results reporting, specification set up, shelf life and hazard identification information management using Laboratory information management system/ERP.
• Identify & Support IMS initiative to improve analytical testing proficiency, laboratory efficiency, product quality, safety and minimize maintenance/operation cost.
• Actively involve in troubleshooting intermediate processing issues, analytical instruments (Operational problems).
• Utilize statistical process control tools to drive continuous improvement.
• Responsible for good housekeeping in the laboratory and surroundings.
  Support HSE goals inconsistency and accelerating site journey to “Zero Harm – Zero injury”.

REQUIREMENTS (education, experience, competencies and specific job requirements):

• Post Graduate in Chemistry from a recognized university.
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in testing of lubricants, additives, chemicals, preferably in MNC environment.
  Sound knowledge of analytical testing instruments, wet analysis. Experience in laboratory blending/synthesis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Computer -Software skills: – Adequate fluency with MS Office, exposure and ability to operate LIMS, ERP, SPC software will be an advantage.
• Can work in a team as well as independently.
• Execution of other work in consultation with QA Manager.
• Exposure to workplace management tools like 5S will be an advantage.
