Desired Skills / Qualification:
- Bachelors/Masters/Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material science, or Polymer technology
- Experience of at least 2-3 years in IP OR technical/R&D innovation-related role is required.
- (Preferred) Knowledge of one or more Dow technologies and product/business models, including hybrid chemistries. (Most Preferred) familiarity with Dow Silicones technologies/products, business alignment, and industry.
- Constructing and conducting patent searches using search strings and analyzing the results using different search databases (This is not a must-have but a good have the skill)
- Understanding of IP laws (patentability, freedom to practice, patent life cycle) will be preferred
- Ability to work independently and collaborate remotely to achieve objectives. Interest and ability to learn and optimize the use of advanced databases, search tools, and IT platforms and programs associated with Intellectual Capital analysis, tracking, and documentation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent comprehension, analytical, and presentation skills
Description
- Dow has a unique and exciting opportunity for an IP Analyst, to be located in Navi Mumbai, India.
- As IP Analyst you will have the responsibility and accountability for conducting the different type of patent and technical literature searches and perform analysis of results to support global R&D and business teams.
- You will also support the Intellectual Capital Managers in the ICD evaluation process.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct patent and non-patent literature searches for generating technology landscapes, white-space analysis, patentability, freedom to operate, validity/invalidity, and infringement reports
- Interact directly with technology experts, inventors, ICMs, and attorneys on a day to day basis
- Ensure timely delivery of search and analysis reports
- Conduct comprehensive searches of patent and technical information using search tools such as Derwent Innovation, Questel Orbit, STN, Discovery, etc.
- Provide insightful evaluation and analysis of patent/literature results
