Job Title: Lead Formulation Chemist – Paint and Coating
Position Summary:
Formulation Chemist is responsible for developing product concepts based on unmet/underserved needs for the architectural paint & coating market. The position will partner with synthesis chemists in business and corporate R&D, marketing, sales, and technical service to develop and launch additives for CAS (coatings, adhesives, and sealants) segment with a compelling value proposition that can be demonstrated through formulation work to customers. The position requires a significant level of collaboration with global R&D, commercial/marketing teams, and customers to understand unmet needs, performance targets, benchmarks, and establishing test protocols, etc., and support application projects as needed.
Job Description:
- Evaluating performance of additives (under development) in target formulations to understand the structure-property relationship and finding ways to optimize them to meet target performance desired.
- Develop innovative products based on Silicone/Silane or hybrid materials with a differentiated value proposition for paint and coating customers.
- Effectively manage multiple projects ensuring clear alignment of goals, objectives, and deliverables with the needs of the business and the marketplace.
- Develop promotional documents and literature for new product introductions.
- Work effectively with a cross-functional team including technology, marketing, sales, manufacturing, etc.
