Applications are invited from highly motivated and bright candidates for engagement as JRF in the research project funded by ‘DST, Nanomission scheme, Government of India at Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Mohali.
Title of the Research Project: “Low-temperature growth of carbonaceous heterostructure for magnetic and thermal applications”

Qualifications:
Essential:
1. M. Sc. /M. Tech. degree in Chemistry/Physics/Electronic-engineering (Having
knowledge/interest in VLSI designing and MEMS fabrication)/Material science/Nanoscience
and Nanotechnology
2. Qualified: CSIR or UGC-NET/GATE/JEST/DST-INSPIRE National Level qualifying
examination.
Desirable: Research experience in analytical techniques/nanoscience/electronics/material
chemistry/device fabrication is preferred.
Opportunity: The student will get exposure to working in 10K Class Cleanroom environment for the fabrication of Si/Carbon-based devices and will handle world-class equipment like; AIXTRON PECVD for Low-temperature carbonaceous material growth, Multi-targeted (DC and RF) Sputtering system, Electron-Beam deposition, Maskless lithography etc. and various characterization tools.
Age limit: Must not be over 30 years as on 07.11.2020, a relaxation of upto 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to OBC-Non Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL)/SC/ST/PwD/Transgender categories and to women applicants.
Fellowship: Rs. 31000/- (pm) + HRA as
applicable (JRF)Project duration: Initially for six months and may be extended based on the performance of the candidates
General Terms and Conditions:
- The position is purely temporary on a contractual basis and renewable till completion of
the project subject to satisfactory performance/ availability of the fund. The position is
co-terminus with the project. The candidate selected for JRF position can also apply for
the regular PhD program of INST provided they satisfy eligibility criteria. - No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
- Mode of Interview: Candidate should appear for interview in person.
- However, candidates residing far off may opt to online interview through Google
Meet, subject to the prior approval of the undersigned. (Request along with the Google
ID should be sent at [email protected] before 6th November 2020) - Original documents of age proof/certificates/degrees/mark sheets and other testimonials,
- Dissertation Thesis, Project Reports of earlier work done along with 3 copies of CV
must be presented at the time of interview. One set of self-attested photocopies of these
documents with 1 passport size photographs must be submitted at the time of interview.
