APIIC Signs MoU with CSIR-IICT to Set Up A Bulk Drug Park
APIIC (Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd) has entered into an MoU (Memorandum of understanding) to set up a bulk drug park (BDP) under a scheme by the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers, Department of Pharmaceuticals, in the State, with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR-IICT)
CSIR-IICT (Indian Institute of Chemical Technology) will offer technical support for the proposal to be submitted to the DoP (Department of Pharmaceuticals) and will be the knowledge partner.
To establish a bulk drug park in the state, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed by the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd (APIIC) with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR-IICT).
To make the proposal, CSIR-IICT will offer needed technical backing which will be submitted to the Department of Pharmaceuticals to seek financial assistance from the Centre by the Andhra Pradesh government. In the virtual presence of Minister for Industries, Andhra Pradesh, Mekapati Goutham Reddy, the Mou was signed. He said for medicine manufacturers, the State would emerge as a top destination. set up three Bulk Drug Parks was issued by the Centre in July this year with the objective to attain self-reliance as Indian manufacturers rely heavily on the import of bulk drugs from China.For the development of four medical devices and three bulk drug parks, the Government of India has recently launched a scheme with grants-in-aid to states with a maximum limit of Rs 1,000 crore.
