INST Mohali Chemistry Recruitment 2020 – Application Details
Applications are invited from highly motivated and bright candidates for engagement of
Junior Research Fellow (Project staff) on contractual basis in the research project
funded by ‘DBT’ scheme, Government of India at Institute of Nano Science and
Technology, Mohali. Check out all the details on the same below:
Title of the Research Project: Utilization of Rice Residues for Value-Added Product
Development.
Principal Investigator: Dr. Jayamurugan Govindasamy, Scientist-E
Name of the position available: Junior Research Fellow (Project)

Qualifications:
Essential:
1. M.Sc. degree in chemistry/organic/inorganic/physical/polymer science with
NET/GATE/GPAT qualification.
2. Qualified: CSIR or UGC-NET/GATE/JEST/DST-INSPIRE National Level
qualifying examination.
Desirable: This project involves the synthesis organic and hybrid Nano catalyst for
various catalytic applications in biomass conversion. Hence, the experience in synthesis
and characterization of organic/inorganic compounds and catalysis will be preferred.
Also, experience in electrochemistry would be added advantage but not must.
Age limit: The upper age limit for applying for the award of JRF shall be 28 years as on
13.02.2020, which is relaxed upto 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to
Schedule Castes/Schedule Tribes/OBC, Physically Handicapped/Visually Handicapped
and female applicants.
Salary: Rs. 31,000/- (pm) + 16 % HRA (JRF)
Duration: The position is purely temporary and on contractual basis initially for three
months and renewable subject to satisfactory performance for a maximum of three
years or till the end of the project. The position is co-terminus with the project.
General Terms and Conditions:
Candidate selected for this position can also apply for the regular PhD program
of INST provided they satisfy eligibility criteria.
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the Walk-In-Interview, however, candidates residing
beyond 500 km from Mohali may opt for online interview.
Mode of Interview: Candidate should appear for interview in person.
However, candidates residing far off may opt to online interview through Skype, subject
to the prior approval of the undersigned. (Request along with the Skype ID should be
sent at [email protected] before 12th February, 2020)
Original documents of age proof/certificates/degrees/mark sheets and other
testimonials, Dissertation Thesis, Project Reports of earlier work done along with 3
copies of CV must be presented at the time of interview. One set of self-attested
photocopies of these documents with 1 passport size photographs must be submitted at
the time of interview.
