Job Title:    Research Associate- I

Project Title: Ultrafast and Single Molecule Spectroscopy Study of Polymers, Organometallic Compounds and BioMacromolecular Assemblies

Fellowship:  As per CSIR norms.

Age Limit:

The upper age limit for applying for award of RA shall be 35 years as on 30th April, 2018. The upper age limit
is relaxable upto 5 years in the case of applicants belonging to scheduled castes/scheduled tribes/OBC, physically handicapped and women applicants.

Research Areas : Any of the followings

(i) Cell Culture
(ii) Synthesis of Nano-particles/Clusters
(iii) General Fluorescence Spectroscopy
(iv) Working with Biomolecules and other macromolecules (fluorescence labeling, fluorescence imaging etc)
(v) Computational Chemistry (MD simulation, Gaussian, MatLab etc).

Qualifications: 

a) PhD in Chemistry. Those who have submitted their thesis are also eligible for RA’ship. Selection in such
cases will be subject to the condition that PhD viva-voce done & declared qualified for award of PhD/awarded
PhD degree

before the expiry of the validity of the award offer.
b) The candidates applying for Research Associateship must have at least one research publication in standard
refereed journal as listed in Journal Citation Reports (JCR).

How to Apply:

The above position is purely temporary, initially for a period of one year and (likely to be extended further at the
discretion of project PI and CSIR) but strictly co-terminus with the project. It would, therefore, not confer any right/ claim, implicit, or explicit for consideration/ absorption against any NISER post. Engagement letter to the selected candidate will be issued only after receiving the grant (first installment) from CSIR. The engagement of project staff will be in accordance with CSIR Rules/summery term and conditions.

The applications must have the following documents: (a) A covering letter that mentions the specific research he/she performed in during the PhD tenure. (b) A detailed academic CV, list of publications and names of two academic referees. (c) A statement of research interests. The candidate should arrange for the letters of reference to reach Dr Subhadip Ghosh, Faculty of the School of Chemical Sciences by email latest by 30th April, 2018. The candidates who are short-listed based on their CV, research statement and letters of recommendation could be interviewed either in person or through video/internet conferencing before the final selection is made.

No TA/DA will be paid to the candidate, if called for interview or joining the position.
