National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) was founded by Sir Robert McCarrison in the year 1918 as ‘Beri-Beri’ Enquiry Unit in a single room laboratory at the Pasteur Institute, Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. Within a short span of seven years, this unit blossomed into a “Deficiency Disease Enquiry” and later in 1928, emerged as full-fledged “Nutrition Research Laboratories” (NRL) with Dr. McCarrison as its first Director. It was shifted to Hyderabad in 1958.

Project title: “Development of New Bio-maker for Quantification of Acetylcholinesterase (ache) Enzyme Activity Organophosphate Carbamales and Nerve Agent in Biological and Ambient Matrices”

Funding agency: Department of Health Research

Age limit: 30 years. Age relaxation is admissible as per ICMR guidelines

e;">Consolidated emoluments: Rs.28,000-00 p.m. + HRA per month fixed without any other allowances

Job Description: To carry out the research work in the said project and confirmation and quantification of new bio-marker in organophosphate poisoning cases

Qualifications:

  • Essential: 1st class in M.Pharm with 2 years Research experience.
  • Desirable: Publications in Indexed Journals and Hands on experience on LCMS and pesticide residue analysis.
