Job Overview
Jubilant Biosys is hiring a Research Scientist – Medicinal Chemistry for its drug discovery team. Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry along with postdoctoral research experience or 2–6 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. The role focuses on medicinal chemistry, hit identification, lead optimization, rational drug design, structure-based drug design, and multi-step organic synthesis. Applicants should

- Location: Bangalore
- Educational Qualification: Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry with Postdoctoral Research Experience
- Experience: 2–6 years of pharmaceutical industry or drug discovery research experience. Strong publication record in medicinal chemistry or related fields.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute multi-step organic synthesis reactions.
- Develop and optimize synthetic routes for target compounds.
- Characterize organic molecules using NMR, IR, MS, and other spectroscopic techniques.
- Analyze research data and maintain laboratory documentation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams.
- Conduct literature reviews on recent developments in medicinal chemistry.
- Mentor junior scientists on synthetic chemistry challenges.
- Prepare scientific reports, presentations, and publications.
- Support intellectual property development while following IPR guidelines.
Experience Required:
- Experience in the drug discovery industry or Post-doc experience from a reputed institute (2-6 years).
- Ability to manage processes of maturing a target candidate from Hit finding to LO using different techniques and skills like triaging high throughput screening hits, rational drug design, chemical tools, and structure-based design.
- Should have peer-reviewed publications and presentations in areas related to drug discovery.
