Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) or Senior Research Fellow (SRF) at IIT Hyderabad (IITH) in a Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Government of India, sponsored project, under DIA-COE IIT(BHU) Varanasi, titled “Indigenous Development of Large Scale (100 kg) Inert Gas Atomiser” sanctioned for a total duration of 3 years. The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.

- Name of Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF) or Senior Research Fellow (SRF)
- Number of Positions: 01
- Duration of the Position: Initially for 01 year but extendable up to 3 years or the duration of the project, whichever is earlier based on the performance.
- Emoluments: JRF: Rs. 37,000 pm for 1st and 2nd year and Rs. 42,000 pm for 3rd Year. SRF: Rs. 42,000 pm. HRA, as per GOI norms, will be additional.
Educational Qualifications
Essential qualifications:
- JRF: BE/BTech in Metallurgical Engineering/Materials Science and Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Chemical Engineering with a minimum CGPA of 8 out of 10.
- SRF: ME/MTech/MS in Metallurgical Engineering/Materials Science and Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Chemical Engineering with a minimum CGPA of 8 out of 10 at both UG and PG levels.
Desirable qualifications:
- Qualified in GATE.
- Research experience in any of the following: Powder metallurgy, Additive Manufacturing, Microstructural characterization, Mechanical behavior, Superalloys, Advanced materials, Modeling and Simulation.
Age Limit: Upper age limit – 28 years. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved category candidates as per Government rules.
Last date of receiving applications: July 8, 2026
Note: The candidate may have the chance to pursue a PhD while serving as a JRF/SRF at IITH if the admission requirements of IITH are satisfied by the candidate.
