Essential Qualification:
- M. Tech. in Chemical/Material Science/Nanoscience & Nanotechnology/Applied Sciences with at least 55% marks.OR
- M. Sc. degree in Chemistry/Physics/Applied Sciences/Materials Science/ Nanoscience & Nanotechnology with at least 55% marks.
Additional Qualification: Candidates should have qualified for one of the following:
- NET-CSIR/UGC lectureship (Asst. Prof.) & Ph. D.OR
- Valid GATE score.OR
- Selection through national-level examinations conducted by the Central Government. Depts. and their agencies and Institutions or any other national fellowship.
Desirable Job Requirements: Candidates with demonstrable knowledge and experience in advanced materials and characterization or experience with optics or optical instrumentation, proficiency in MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python, etc., and theoretical studies are preferred.
Job Responsibilities: Design & synthesis, theoretical studies, fabrication and characterization of advanced materials and their hybrids, sensor design & fabrication, design & implementation of experiments for nanophotonics, materials for fabrication of energy devices such as solar cells & super-capacitors, characterization, and data analysis.
Salary & Benefits: Rs. 37,000/- + HRA (as per applicable rules) subject to fulfillment of T&C of funding agency and rules and regulations of Panjab University.

Preference: Candidates planning to pursue their Ph.D. with fellowships will be given priority. Fellowship holders (NET-CSIR/UGC JRF qualified candidates) may apply directly to the PI.

Service Conditions: The norms & guidelines for service conditions, age limit, etc., for scientific/technical manpower will be in accordance with the ANRF notification w.r.t. ANRF/OM/N-01/2024 or any later official notification.
Number of Posts: There are a total of 06 sanctioned JRF posts (purely temporary). However, the exact number of available posts will depend on the vacancy at the time of the interview.
Interview Process: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview via email. Outstation candidates may request to appear for the interview via video conferencing, with justification. No Transport Allowance (TA) will be paid for attending the interview.
