Job Purpose:
The incumbent will be responsible for developing new products and modifying existing products in the waterproofing and construction chemicals range.
Business Responsibility Areas:
- Conducting a literature survey and experimental planning for new product development
- Processing of batches and testing of the experimental designs as per the test protocol defined
- Conducting application/product validation trials at sites that can be located at different locations across India
- Testing and analysis of benchmark samples
- Evaluation of alternate RMs in the existing product formulation for suitability
- Support for plant with respect to the standardization of the product at PEL/OPC
- Maintaining appropriate and updated records of experiments in lab notebook & Optiva
- Data tabulation and interpretation, technical report preparation, and presentation at the review meetings
- Customer complaint handling and resolution
Key Performance Indicators:
- Completion of all the activities assigned within the stipulated timelines.
- Maintaining proper records of activities in the lab register and Optiva.
- Reproducibility and repeatability (R&R) of the work done.
Qualifications:
M.Sc / B.Tech. / M.Tech. in Paints or Polymer or Chemistry with 1-5 years of R&D experience
Previous Experience:
At least 1 year of R&D experience in waterproofing and construction chemical materials, and experience in the development of admixture polymer synthesis is preferred.
Functional Competencies:
Should be conversant with cementitious waterproofing products and construction chemicals like Admixture, IWC, Tile Adhesives, Mortars and Grouts, Crack filler, liquid applied waterproofing coatings, Epoxy/PU-based injection grouts, Membranes, etc. Basic knowledge of waterproofing and related product development, application, and testing, handling of instruments related to waterproofing and construction chemicals will be desirable.
