CALL FOR RESEARCH STAFF (Junior Research Fellow/Project Associate – 1)

Applications are invited from highly motivated candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) /Project Associate – 1 (PA- 1) in the Department of Chemical Engineering, BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus, Goa, to work on a time-bound research project sponsored by ISRO, titled “Two-Phase Flow Modeling in Cryogenic Propellant Feed Lines” (Project No. RAC-S/FRP/25-26/11). The appointment will be purely on a contractual basis.

- Fellowship: Rs. 37,000 + HRA as per norms if GATE/ NET qualified

- Post Name: Project Associate – 1 (PA- 1)
- Fellowship: PA-1: Rs. 31,000 + HRA if not GATE/ NET qualified

Project Description: Development of a 3D mathematical model to predict chill-down times in cryogenic LOX feedline by integrating fluid flow and conjugate heat transfer models, incorporating heat transfer correlations for various flow boiling regimes.
Desired Skillset: Knowledge of fluid mechanics and heat transfer, with experience in mathematical modeling and numerical simulation.
Qualification:
First class Post Graduate/ Graduate Degree in Chemical/Mechanical/Manufacturing/ Civil/ Environmental / Design Engineering or basic sciences, selected through a process described through any one of the following:
1. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests- CSIR–UGC NET, including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.
2. Selection process through National level examinations conducted by central Government departments and their agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, IIT, IISc, IISER, etc.
Candidates who have not appeared in the above examinations may still be considered for the PA-1 position.
Preference will be given to GATE/NET-qualified candidates.
Registration for PhD: Selected JRF/PA-1 candidate will have the opportunity to apply for the PhD programme at BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus, subject to their performance (the Rules of the PhD program for BITS Pilani apply).
