Key Responsibility:
- Ensure cost-effective non-infringing route selection, process development of existing and new products. Carry out feasibility, optimization studies, process validation in the lab, and tech-pack transfer.
- Designing and conducting experiments involving vapor phase reactions, flow Chemistry, characterizing reaction products, and optimizing process conditions.
- Lead the development of new products from concept to commercialization.
- Homogeneous and heterogeneous Catalyst Synthesis, including its application.
- Conduct 1-2 chemical reactions daily.
Product Monitoring and Support:
- Provide support for cost reduction initiatives, troubleshooting, performance tests, and the development of new molecules as assigned by the R&D/business group.
- Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot process issues to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Continuous improvement on the key projects to keep them cost-competitive.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations and improve product quality.
Process Review and Scale-Up Support:
- Lead scale-up activities for new products, ensuring smooth transition from lab to pilot plant and full-scale production.
- Prepare SOPs as needed.
- Ensure that all analysts have read, understood, and signed off on the SOPs.
- Support plant commissioning and troubleshooting to ensure successful startup and operation.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing and business teams to address production challenges and optimize processes.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Ensure that all experimental documentation in the lab records is completed immediately after experimentation, in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations and improve product quality.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Organic/Inorganic Chemistry, preferably from one of the top 5 institutes in the state or country.
- 2-5 years of experience in the field of Vapour Phase Chemistry/Catalyst Synthesis.
Preferred:
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in companies such as SRF, AARTI, Navin Fluorine, Deepak Nitrile, SABIC, Honeywell, etc.
Competency Levels:
- General Awareness: Possesses a fundamental understanding of concepts.
- Working Knowledge: Systematic approach for an objective. Has good job knowledge and applies a full range of concepts and practices. Utilizes these concepts in day-to-day activities.
Professional Skills:
- Working exposure in all R&D activities. Carrying out reactions. Preparation of reports. Characterization of compounds using the full scope of instrumentation (NMR, LC-MS, XRD, SCM, ICP, HPLC, UV-Visible, and IR).
- Knowledge of vapour phase chemistry/continuous process.
- Expertise in homogeneous & heterogeneous catalyst development/synthesis.
- Proven track record in the field with extensive knowledge of Organic Chemistry.
- Strong command of recent developments in the relevant field.
