CSIR-CSMCRI Recruitment 2025: Project Associate–I in Chemistry

Applications are invited for the post of Project Associate–I from interested and talented candidates for the CSIR-FIRST project titled “Utilizing Chiral-Induced Spin Selectivity (CISS) Effect in Designing Hydrogen-Bonded Organoelectrocatalysts for Water Splitting Including Seawater” (Project Code: FIR030303) at CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar.

  • Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Chemistry from a recognized university or institute.

Desirable Experience

  • Research experience in the area of catalysis, electrochemistry, or organic/inorganic synthesis is desirable for this position.

Monthly Emoluments

(a) ₹31,000 + HRA — for those who have qualified CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET (including lectureship/assistant professorship) or GATE, or who have qualified national-level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments like DBT/DST or equivalent agencies.
(b) ₹25,000 + HRA — for others who do not fall under category (a).

Job Description: 

The selected candidate will work on the synthesis and characterization of hydrogen-bonded systems and explore their electrocatalytic applications for water splitting, including seawater electrolysis.

Age Limit: As of the last date of receipt of the application through email, the maximum age limit is 35 years. Age relaxation is applicable as per CSIR rules.

Duration: This post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project (till 31.03.2026).
The total engagement of a project staff in different CSIR projects (in CSMCRI or other CSIR labs) shall not exceed six years.

The position does not confer any right or claim for extension or absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI. No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the interview.
