Job Description
We are seeking experienced scientists for Peptide Synthesis in API R&D at Biocon. The role is open at Scientist, Senior Scientist, and Principal Scientist levels. Candidates will play a key role in developing peptide-based Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), utilizing advanced technologies, and supporting the scale-up for commercial manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform peptide synthesis using both solid-phase and solution-phase strategies, employing manual or automated synthesizers.
- Conduct peptide cleavage, isolation, and purification.
- Execute C- and N-terminal modifications, peptide conjugations, and impurity profiling.
- Synthesize and isolate peptides and impurities for characterization.
- Utilize analytical and spectroscopic techniques for peptide analysis.
- Prepare technical documentation and maintain lab journals.
- Support process development and scale-up of peptide pharmaceuticals.
Qualifications
- Ph.D./M.Sc./M.Pharm. in Chemistry or related field.
- Strong experience in solid-phase and solution-phase peptide synthesis.
- Expertise in hybrid technologies or Molecular Hiving preferred.
- Experience in process development of peptide APIs.
- Hands-on experience in scale-up processes is an added advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.
- Self-motivated with a proactive, go-getter attitude.
