Description
The successful candidate will work at the intersection of molecular dynamics simulations, machine learning, and drug design. This Sanofi Chemistry Internship offers hands-on experience with a variety of computational techniques and the opportunity to gain further understanding of the role of computational chemistry in the drug discovery process. Interns will be empowered to learn, ask questions, and bring their ideas to life while supported by inspiring mentors and collaborative teams.
Main Responsibilities
- Contribute to data visualisation and interpretation of complex structural and dynamical information.
- Maintain organised computational workflows and documentation of methodologies and results.
- Generate and analyse protein structure predictions and conformational ensembles using computational tools.
- Apply machine learning and statistical methods to analyse simulation data.
- Support molecular dynamics simulations and conformational sampling to investigate protein structural dynamics.
- Continue to learn from literature, meetings, and personnel to solve chemistry and medicinal chemistry challenges.
- Communicate and interact with other staff/team members in a professional and courteous manner.
Eligibility Criteria
- En route to a Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry, biology, computer science or a related field.
- Must be permanently authorised to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship of an employment visa at the time of application or in the future.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university throughout the duration of the co-op/internship.
- Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40hrs/week, Monday to Friday, for the full duration of the co-op/internship.
- Experience running molecular dynamics simulations using GROMACS or similar software.
- Basic experience with programming for data analysis and visualisation.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $29-35 USD: hourly. All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience.
