Quality Control Chemist Jobs: Job Description
For these Quality Control Chemist Jobs, the candidate will be responsible for performing laboratory testing, maintaining accurate analytical records, ensuring compliance with GMP standards, and supporting the overall quality assurance process. Freshers with a strong academic background in Chemistry and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine quality control testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Conduct laboratory tests as per approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and specifications.
- Assist in analytical testing using laboratory instruments such as pH meters, weighing balances, moisture analysers, and other relevant equipment.
- Support testing of Empty Hard Gelatin Capsules for physical, chemical, and other quality parameters, as applicable.
- Prepare and maintain laboratory records, analytical reports, test results, and documentation with high accuracy.
- Ensure proper sample collection, labelling, storage, and traceability.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and laboratory safety protocols.
- Assist in the preparation, standardisation, and maintenance of laboratory reagents and solutions.
- Ensure proper calibration, cleaning, and maintenance of laboratory equipment in coordination with senior personnel.
- Report out-of-specification (OOS) results, deviations, and abnormal observations to the reporting manager.
- Support investigations, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and other quality-related activities.
- Maintain laboratory housekeeping, safety standards, and proper chemical handling practices.
- Coordinate with QA, Production, and other departments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Eligibility for Quality Control Chemist Jobs:
- B.Sc or M.Sc in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience in a Quality Control laboratory, preferably in pharmaceutical, chemical, or manufacturing industries.
- Freshers with a strong understanding of basic chemistry and laboratory practices are welcome.
- Basic knowledge of GMP, GLP, SOPs, and laboratory documentation will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with laboratory instruments and analytical testing procedures is preferred.
Required Skills:
- Basic knowledge of chemical analysis and laboratory testing procedures.
- Understanding of laboratory equipment, calibration, and handling practices.
- Knowledge of GMP, GLP, and quality control documentation.
- Basic proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and laboratory record-keeping.
- Ability to interpret test results and maintain accurate analytical records.
