Senior HazCom Specialist Job Description
The EH&S teams at Dow are committed to protecting people and the planet by delivering Product Safety services. The Senior HazCom Specialist will play a crucial role in developing and implementing tools, templates, and work processes that support the creation of compliant safety data sheets (SDSs) and labels. This position involves advising on SDS requirements, hazard classification, and providing regulatory intelligence support across businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement expert rules to automate the creation of selected SDS sections.
- Lead projects, including SAP system updates, to meet regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement complex tools, templates, and work processes documentation.
- Deliver expertise and develop complex technical training on HazCom processes.
- Represent the function during internal and external audits and inspections.
- Scan, interpret, and implement complex HazCom regulations.
- Support regional advocacy activities on HazCom subjects.
- Lead Hazard Communication expertise for global matters.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Master’s degree in Chemistry, Toxicology Engineering, or related fields.
- 3-5 years of experience in product safety/hazard communication, including GHS classification requirements.
- Knowledge of SAP EH&S Module is a plus.
