Job Description
In this Colgate Associate Scientist job, the successful candidate leads end-to-end planning and implementation of all product development initiatives, including new products, relaunches, and funding growth projects as defined in the technology grid to achieve sustainable business growth. The role is responsible for maintaining 100% compliance with all guidelines related to product safety, quality, and regulatory standards while ensuring smooth operations in pilot plant and technology transfer.
Job Responsibilities
- Independently lead pilot plant operations and ensure 100% compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements for the assigned product/brand.
- Leverage science and data analytics to identify potential problems or opportunities and create appropriate action plans in consultation with the manager.
- Provide excellent support for all ongoing and new product development projects and initiatives, such as margin improvement programs.
- Utilise statistical approaches to experimental design to maximise learning with minimal time and resources.
- Ensure compliance with all product safety, quality, and regulatory requirements throughout the product life cycle.
- Gain expertise in respective product category fundamentals and develop the capability to execute projects from conceptualisation to implementation.
- Share internal and external technical knowledge discoveries, ideas, and vision with colleagues through documentation, presentations, publications, and patents.
- Lead supplier qualification programs for raw and packing materials and support packaging material qualification programs.
- Be agile and respond quickly to changing consumer and/or business expectations.
Eligibility Criteria
- Education: M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry, Pharma, or any related field is required.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of industrial experience in formulation development in a reputed FMCG or Pharma company.
- Demonstrated experience in the development of Oral Care, Personal Care, or Home Care Products.
- Experience in preparing supporting data related to new product launches/relaunches to ensure smooth technology transfer to the plant.
- Strong analytical ability and proven result orientation.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Chemistry or Pharmacy would be an advantage.
- Knowledge and/or experience specialising in
- Soap making, Surfactants, Oils & fats is highly preferred.
- Ability to build formal and informal networks to stay updated with new technology trends and breakthroughs.
- Strong business insight and end-to-end business understanding by partnering closely with commercial and supply chain functions.
