Job Description

In this TERI Research Associate Job, the candidate will work on a project funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. The role involves working with catalytic pyrolysis, pyrolysis product fractionation, and conversion to JET Fuel range products. The Research Associate (RA II/III) will be required to operate pilot pyrolysis reactors and other high-pressure reactors.

Eligibility

  • PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Energy Science and Engineering, or Petrochemical Engineering.
  • Master’s (MSc/MTech/ME) in Chemical Engineering/Energy Science and Technology with up to 3 years of experience in catalytic biofuel conversion (thermochemical route only).
  • Preference for candidates with research experience in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production through Alcohol to JET (ATJ) or HEFA Process, or Pyrolysis oil upgradation and fractionation.

Required Skills

  • Heterogeneous catalyst synthesis.
  • Deoxygenation catalytic and hydrotreatment of bio-oil.
  • Hydrothermal Liquefaction (HTL) or Thermochemical biomass conversion (Pyrolysis & Gasification only).
  • Strong analytical skills for analysis of jet fuel products using GCMS, Calorimeter, TGA, GC, NMR, FTIR, Brookfield Viscometer, and Freezing Point Analyzer.
  • Excellent technical writing skills in English.
  • Able to write quality research papers in high-impact factor journals.
  • Ability to evaluate, analyse, and interpret results, identify next steps/key challenges, and conduct experiments in pilot reactors.
  • Excellent team spirit, communication skills, high motivation, hard-working, and integrity.

Salary

As per DST/Government norms for SRF (Rs 61000/- + 27% HRA = Rs 77470/- per month).
