Job Overview:
The selected candidate for these Research Associate Jobs will work on the project: “Clay – Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) Interactions and Their Role in Sustainable Water Remediation.” The project aims to investigate interactions between clay materials and PFAS and explore their potential role in developing sustainable approaches to water remediation. At Azim Premji University, the Research Associate will contribute to the design and execution of lab-based research involving clay preparation and PFAS adsorption studies. The position provides an opportunity to engage in interdisciplinary Water Remediation Research at the interface of physical chemistry, materials chemistry, analytical chemistry and environmental remediation. The candidate will be expected to work independently, maintain careful experimental records and actively contribute to the research objectives of the project.
Educational Requirements:
Candidates applying for these Research Associate Jobs must have:
- MSc degree in Chemistry
- Strong interest in experimental research
- Research experience in physical chemistry, materials chemistry, analytical chemistry or a related area will be preferred
- Familiarity with laboratory-based experimental work and scientific data analysis

Key Responsibilities:
The Research Associate at Azim Premji University will be responsible for:
- Preparing and characterising clay materials for use in adsorption studies.
- Designing and conducting PFAS adsorption experiments and batch studies.
- Planning and executing laboratory experiments in consultation with the Principal Investigator.
- Characterising clay materials and experimental samples using techniques such as XRD, FTIR, SEM and TGA.
- Performing spectroscopic analyses using UV-Vis and fluorescence spectroscopy, as relevant to the research.
- Maintaining detailed records of experimental procedures, observations and results.
- Analysing and interpreting experimental data.
- Reviewing relevant scientific literature and contributing to the development of research protocols.
These responsibilities provide candidates with hands-on exposure to experimental Water Remediation Research.
Skills Required:
