Job Description
The Chemist I role at Behr Paint Company involves performing and documenting results of regularly scheduled laboratory tests. The successful candidate will assist in new product development and improvements of existing products, focusing on quality and performance

- Prepare samples using laboratory dispersion and blending equipment.
- Conduct standard tests and special tests, including coating applications, viscosity, gloss, tint strength, density, pH, and scrub tests.
- Follow Standard Test Procedures, recording and reporting problems associated with test equipment or processes.
- Interpret and report test results accurately.
- Request raw materials and supplies for projects as needed.
- Clean and maintain test equipment.
- Communicate effectively with other departments, including Manufacturing and Marketing.
- Support product or process improvement ideas.
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational attainment equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, a Master of Science, or a related field.
- Some experience involving chemical analysis and testing procedures.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of the principles of math and chemistry.
