Job Overview:
Chevron Careers is hiring a Hazard Communication Specialist for its Bengaluru office. The selected candidate will classify substances, prepare regulatory documentation, interpret international
hazard communication requirements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support safe chemical management across Chevron’s global operations.Key Responsibilities:
- Author and update SDSs using specialized software tools, incorporating chemical, health, safety, and regulatory information in compliance with global standards.
- Classify substances and mixtures for physical, health, and environmental hazards in accordance with GHS, CLP, OSHA HazCom, WHMIS, and other regional regulations.
- Ensure SDSs and labels meet global regulatory requirements and are accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date.
- Interpret and apply hazard communication regulations globally to determine SDS and labeling impacts.
- Collect and analyze chemical data from suppliers, internal databases, and regulatory sources.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to verify chemical compositions and resolve classification issues.
- Communicate regulatory requirements, SDS content, and updates effectively to business units.
- Provide recommendations for safer chemical alternatives with lower environmental impact.
Eligibility Criteria:
- BE / Masters in Chemistry / Organic Chemistry.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in hazard communication, SDS authoring, or chemical regulatory compliance.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of SDS, GHS, and its importance in ensuring chemical safety and safe product movement.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail for interpreting toxicological and regulatory data.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to stay updated on global regulatory changes and implement them effectively.
