Job Description

The selected

candidate will support the complete product lifecycle, from prototype development to serial production and aftermarket manufacturing. This BASF Process Technology Engineer Recruitment role involves catalyst manufacturing, process industrialization, production monitoring, troubleshooting, and quality conformance. The engineer will define and validate production parameters, conduct pilot runs, and collaborate with global technology teams to ensure readiness for mass production. The position also includes process optimization, implementation of automation opportunities, and participation in cross-site knowledge exchange to align with global technology standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support the entire product cycle from prototype builds to serial production and aftermarket manufacturing.
  • Ensure manufacturability of new products and alignment with global technology standards.
  • Define, validate, and document production parameters and control strategies.
  • Conduct pilot runs, capability studies, and readiness assessments.
  • Ensure production processes meet customer-specific quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide troubleshooting support for process deviations and equipment issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency and product consistency.
  • Support cross-functional teams during product launches and global harmonization efforts.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Education: PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in process engineering, manufacturing technology, catalyst production, materials development, or a related technical area.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of catalyst coating, substrate handling, or advanced materials manufacturing.
  • Experience with process scale-up, statistical process control, and quality systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in both local and global team structures.
  • Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and other automotive quality frameworks.
  • Familiarity with digital manufacturing tools, automation, and data analytics.
  • Lean/Six Sigma training or continuous improvement experience.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence across functions.
