Job Overview:
IIT Roorkee is inviting applications for a Project Associate Vacancy under a Ministry of Steel-sponsored research project titled “Decarbonisation of DRI Process in Rotary Kiln using Hydrogen as Reductant.” These Research Jobs are available in the Department of Chemical Engineering for one Project Associate. The selected candidate will participate in experimental and theoretical studies
involving hydrogen-based iron ore reduction, laboratory-scale rotary kiln experiments, and process simulation to support sustainable steel manufacturing research.Project Details:

Job Description:
- The experimental and theoretical studies will be performed. In the experimental part, a lab-scale rotary kiln will be used to study the kinetics of iron ore reduction using hydrogen gas, which will be further simulated to replicate the results in a theoretical study.

Candidates desiring to appear for the Interview should submit their applications with the following documents to the office of Principal Investigator through email, by post, or produce at the time of Interview:
- Application in a plain paper with detailed CV including chronological discipline of degree/certificates obtained.
- Experience including research, industrial field, and others.
- Attested copies of degree/certificate and experience certificate.
- Candidate shall bring along with them the original degree(s)/certificate(s) and experience certificate(s) at the time of interview for verification.
- Preference will be given to SC/ST candidates on equal qualifications and experience.
- Please note that no TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview.

- The interview (Walk-in) will be held at 10:00 am on 15.07.2026 (Wednesday) in Committee Room, Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Roorkee. Candidates should report in the department office by 9:30 am on 15.07.2026.
