IISER Pune has announced Research Jobs for one Junior Research Fellow and one Post-Doctoral Fellow under externally funded Chemistry research projects. The Junior Research Fellow position is funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) and focuses on photoinduced carbene and radical generation for developing pyromellitic diimide-based luminophores and
bioactive organic compounds. The Post-Doctoral Fellow position is supported by a private funding agency and involves research on photoinduced carbene and radical chemistry to access potential bioactive organic compounds. - Minimum Educational Qualification:
- M.Sc. in General Chemistry / Organic Chemistry with minimum 60% or equivalent grades with valid CSIR / UGC / DBT – JRF / any other National Level Test conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies OR equivalent scorecard.
- Preference: Candidates having exposure to Organic Synthesis / Previous experiences on Synthetic organic Chemistry may be preferred.
- Tenure of the Appointment: Upto 13.02.2027
- Consolidated Emoluments per Month: Rs. 37,000/- + 30% House Rent Allowance.
- Upper Age Limit as on Last Date of Application: Not more than 28 years.
Post-Doctoral Fellow

- Minimum Educational Qualification & Eligibility Criteria:
- Ph.D. in Chemistry or related areas. Candidates who have submitted thesis may also apply.
- A woman with a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or related areas from a recognized institution.
- Demonstrate an excellent academic and research record in the field of Organic/Medicinal Chemistry with evidence of research accomplishments and potential for independent research and leadership.
- Candidate must belong to a family with a gross annual income not exceeding ₹15 lakh. Any modification to the income threshold, if mutually agreed upon by the sponsoring organization and the Institute, shall be applicable.
- Preference: Candidates having hands-on research experience and exposure in the field of organic synthetic transformations and experience in diazo carbonyl compounds / visible light catalysis / Metal catalysis will be preferred.
- Tenure of the Appointment: Upto 31.03.2027 extendable for further period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the project.
- Consolidated Emoluments per Month: Rs. 72,000/-
- Senior Research Fellow (SRF): 53,340/-
- For Candidates who have submitted thesis for Ph.D. in the relevant areas but not completed the defence (i.e. candidates without a provisional certificate of having qualified for the degree).
- Upper Age Limit as on Last Date of Application: Not more than 35 years.
