- Analyze production, process, and laboratory data from chemical plants to identify trends, correlations, and deviations using ML and AI techniques.
- Identify process improvement opportunities by deep and multivariate analysis of historical process data.
- Build predictive models for yield improvement, cycle time reduction, raw material consumption optimization, and quality forecasting.
- Build dashboards, alerts, and automated reporting for operational teams.
- Develop, deploy and maintain data-driven solutions using the tools in the PA&D toolbox (e.g. Python, Azure, Matlab, R, PowerBI).
- Scope new tools, algorithms and other developments within the ML and AI space, e.g., automatically updated soft sensors operating in IoT edge devices, golden-batch manufacturing multivariate models, allowing to select the right tool for the job.
- Explain data analytics, ML algorithms and results in an understandable way to PA&D and plant staff.
- Guide and support staff with data initiatives, thereby contributing to a higher level of data analysis capabilities within PA&D.
- Liaise with other functions in the digital space, primarily IM (Information Management), for optimal landing of developed solutions in the Nouryon digital environment.
Education Qualification:
- Masterās degree in chemical engineering, physics or electrical engineering or related field with a strong affinity towards data analysis.
Skills Required:Ā
- Track record in big data analytics and ML-based solutions for manufacturing/chemical industry.
- Extensive knowledge on and deep understanding of different machine learning algorithms.
- Project management experience.
- Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and statistical modelling.
- Able to work with (transient) data from DCS/PLC systems, LIMS, MES, SCADA, PI/Process Historians, and ERP (SAP).
- Experience with visualization tools like Power BI.
- Experience with machine learning techniques and time-series analysis for chemical processes. Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP) and data pipelines.
- Self-sustaining when it comes to the solution strategy.
- Excellent presentation and reporting skills, both verbally and in written form.
- Proficient in the English language.
