The selected candidate is expected to perform lab experiments, write reports/articles in good English based on the experimental findings of research followed by publications in peer-reviewed journals. Candidates with a basic understanding of Organic Chemistry, Organic Synthesis, Reagent Chemistry, Coupling Agents, Peptide Chemistry, Biomolecules, Supramolecular Chemistry, General Chemistry, Materials Chemistry, and Photochemistry will be preferred.Project Overview
Applications are invited for the position of an Institute Research Fellow at the Department of Chemistry at BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus, Goa under a BITS Pilani Cross-Disciplinary Research Framework III Funded Project entitled “Peptide-based Supramolecular Photochromic Biocompatible Hydrogels for the Development of 4D-Printed Next-Generation Adaptive Contact Lenses”. This position is temporary and purely on a contractual basis.
- Project Title: “Peptide-based Supramolecular Photochromic Biocompatible Hydrogels for the Development of 4D-Printed Next-Generation Adaptive Contact Lenses”.
- Supervisors: Dr. Subhasish Roy, Department of Chemistry; Prof. Dhananjay Madhukar Kulkarni, Department of Mechanical Engineering
- Funding Agency: BITS Pilani
- Duration of the Project: 2 Years (The appointment will be renewed every year based on satisfactory performance)
- Fellowship Amount: Rs. 37,000/- (initially first two years)
Qualification
- Minimum eligibility to apply for this position: Post Graduate Degree in Chemistry (with at least 60% marks) Or M.Pharm. (with at least 60% marks).
- Experience in Synthetic Organic Chemistry/Peptide Chemistry-related project work will be given preference.
- Preference will also be given to candidates qualified with National Eligibility Tests – CSIR–UGC NET including PhD only / PhD + lectureship (Assistant Professorship) in Chemical Sciences / GATE in Chemistry.
Upper Age Limit:
- Not exceeding 35 years as on the date of interview. Age relaxation is allowed up to 5 years for SC/ST/PH/OBC/Women candidates.

- Hostel accommodation at BITS Pilani K K Birla Goa Campus will be provided, subject to availability, and will be governed by the rules and regulations of the Institute prevailing at the time of joining the candidate.
