Essential Qualification/Experience as per the norms
PhD in Mechanical/Aerospace/Chemical or any other relevant department from a recognized university/institute, with experience in CFD of reacting flows. Candidates who have submitted their thesis may also apply. Applicants must have secured a minimum of 60% marks (or equivalent grade) from the undergraduate level onwards, and at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in both Class 10 and 12.
Desirable Qualification/Experience
- Strong CFD background and experience with OpenFOAM and ANSYS Fluent
- Experience with large eddy simulation (LES) is preferred
- Experience in modeling reacting flows and combustion, good understanding of chemical kinetics.
- Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) and basic machine-learning model development
- Expertise in at least one programming language and proficiency in Python
- Good communication skills

Job Description
As a postdoctoral researcher in the CCML Lab, you will lead the development of PCA-based reduced-order models integrated within LES frameworks to model extreme events in hydrogen-enriched combustion, such as flashback and hydrodynamic instabilities. You will develop and validate these frameworks, testing them on both academic benchmark cases and industry-relevant combustors, and disseminate your results through journal articles and international conference presentations. Additionally, you will co-mentor graduate and undergraduate students and assist in preparing competitive funding proposals. Success in this fast-changing, growth-focused environment requires a strong willingness to learn, the ability to adapt, and the confidence to work independently while also collaborating with the principal investigator and the research team.
